UBC student thankful for opportunity to combine sport with school.

Basketball player receives Capri Insurance Athletics Entrance Scholarship

Buster Truss, a first-year bachelor of science student at UBC's Okanagan campus, is the sixth recipient of the annual Capri Insurance Athletics Entrance Scholarship.

The $2,500 scholarship is funded by an endowment established by Capri Insurance in 2009 to help top scholars, who are also gifted athletes, attend UBC's Okanagan campus.

Local firm reaches four-decade milestone thanks to a philosophy of service, excellence and teamwork.

Back in the mid seventies, things looked pretty grim at international insurance broker J.T. O’Bryan & Co. The six members of the Kelowna office were advised the business was headed for bankruptcy. Faced not only with the loss of their own jobs but having to let down the customers they had already begun to count as friends, the small group had to make a hard choice. Determined to turn a negative into a positive, they doubled down, dug deep and invested everything they had into the future and on March 19, 1975, Capri Insurance was born.

Professional Tennis Three-Peats In Kelowna
June 28 To July 6, 2014

Joachim Nierfeld, Tennis BC Regional Director, is pleased to announce that professional tennis will return to Kelowna this summer. The third annual $15,000 Men's Futures tennis event, sponsored by Capri Insurance and Chubb Insurance Company of Canada, will be held at the Parkinson Recreation Centre Courts from June 28 to July 6, 2014. The tournament will provide valuable ATP Tour world-ranking points to the competitors and is sanctioned by Tennis Canada as well as the International Tennis Federation.

The inaugural Capri-Chubb ITF Tournament a great success!

The weather wasn’t the only hot thing in Kelowna this summer.  We were host to an exclusive ITF Tennis Pro World Circuit Event, Kelowna Future Tennis.  The event co-sponsored by Capri Insurance Services and Chubb Insurance ran at the Parkinson Rec Center from June 30th – July 8th, 2012.

Employment Insurance Maximum Change

Effective January 1, 2010, the employment insurance (EI) maximum insurable earnings will increase from $42,300 per year to $43,200. Accordingly, the new EI benefit amount will be $457 per week, an increase from the current $447 per week.
