Helping Families in Need This Holiday Season

Every year, Capri Insurance hosts a number of events throughout its offices during November and December to give back to our local communities and spread the holiday cheer to those in need. 

These are just a couple of the fundraising activities taking place in our Burnaby office during this special time of year:


This year, CMW is participating in the Santa Buddy Adopt-A-Family program with Burnaby’s Helping Families in Need Society. Through this program, a sponsor is matched with a family in need. The sponsor provides their ‘adopted’ family with necessities and gifts to support them during the holiday season. CMW has  ‘adopted’ a single mother with a daughter and staff members will be checking off all the items on the family’s wish list.

The Helping Families in Need Society is a small group of dedicated volunteers who work with over 85 community, government and charitable organizations to directly help more than 1,300 families each year. To find out how you can adopt a family or to make a donation, please visit the Helping Families in Need Society website.

Secret Santa Toy Drive

Each year, CMW employees hosts a Secret Santa Toy Drive. All participant names are put in a draw and each employee is given the name of a colleague. Each participant then purchases a gift that they believe their colleague would have liked as a child or teenager. The gift exchange and opening takes place during a celebratory lunch in the office and all gifts are then donated. This year, the gifts will be donated to the Angel Project in support of the Burnaby Christmas Bureau.

The Burnaby Christmas Bureau offers hampers to seniors and gifts for children to families with low income. To find out how you can help, visit their webpage on the Burnaby Community Services website.
